Biotime Victoria Review

Biotime Victoria Review

Living in Vancouver sometimes fashion takes precedence over comfort. Most of us women are guilty of choosing the more stylish choice for an evening out and regretting it later. But this doesn’t have to be our reality. Whether you are going out for dinner, a walk to Granville Island or out to a movie, the Biotime Victoria boots will keep you comfortable and looking great!

I know what you’re thinking, fashionable boots that are comfortable?! Yeah right?! But it’s true!

The Victoria boots are a comfortable all-day wear. I have worn them for a full work day then changed into skinny jeans and a blouse to meet friends for dinner on Commercial Drive. These boots are suitable for office wear and weekends, from day to night.

There are many great features about Biotime’s Victoria boots. Here are the key features I feel add to the great comfort and fit. They have a low heel height, a soft foam interior lining, discrete elastic stretch panel for a wide calf and a removable leather foot bed.

Can you wear orthotics in them?

Yes and no. Orthotics can definitely be worn in these boots but not every pair will fit. Although the Victoria boots have a removable liner, they are still a fairly narrow through the middle. A slim graphite shell design will be the best fit. The standard dress orthotic profile fits easily on top of the existing liner and does not crowd the forefoot of the boot. Keep in mind that orthotics can always be modified with different top cover materials to accommodate different footwear.

How do they fit?

The Victoria boots fit fairly large in length. I normally wear a European size 41 (US size 10) in most footwear. However, in the Victoria I am wearing a size 40, a full size down. Due to the shape of the toebox, I don’t think this style be suitable for someone with a wide forefoot as the boot comes to a point at the toe.

How do they stand up in this weather?

Fall in the lower mainland is known for constant rain. Sometimes it feels impossible to stay dry and warm. Protecting ourselves and our belongings is a daily struggle. While the soft leather upper of the Victoria boot is very comfortable, it does get scuffed up easily. Try a leather proof coating on them like Nikwax leather proof. This will help your shoes stand up against rain and dirt.
